GEORGIA NON EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) is a program that provides transportation to people who cannot utilize other forms of transportation in order to access medical care or services. The service is also used by patients who have no access to other forms of transport. NET services help facilitate the achievement of the US government’s vision of enabling access to affordable and quality healthcare especially for the elderly and the disabled. Most NET services are provided by firms that offer ambulatory non-emergency patient transport. Such patients may be on a stretcher or wheelchair bound but do not require critical ambulance response. However, such people are handicapped and need routine clinical monitoring and support for chronic conditions. Typically, NET targets patients who can wait for 90 minutes for transport with most movements involving transitions between homes and hospitals. Most non-emergency transport services are provided by contractors who liaise with government agencies such as Medicaid. Such contractors operate under the provisions of the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Act and must be compliant with the Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) Regulations of 2005. Patients, who wish to utilize the non-emergency patient transport system, must call 770.274.9846 to set up their appointment. These patients who often consist of the elderly, handicapped, the disabled and those on a stretcher must set their call in preferably 48 hrs before their appointment. However, we realize last minute trips arise. We will do everything in our power to schedule your transport as needed. Call us at 770.274.9846 or visit us at WWW.ATM-GA.COM
